Faculty

Angie Allen has been playing the violin for seventeen years and is currently teaching middle and high school orchestra in the Edmond Public Schools.  She attended Oklahoma City University where she studied violin and graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelors Degree in Instrumental Music Education. 

While at OCU, she performed in the OCU Symphony Orchestra and OCU Opera and Music Theatre Orchestra, and she participated in a 16-day concert tour of China.  As a violinist and violist, she has performed with the Fort Smith Symphony, Wichita Grand Opera Orchestra, and recording artist Josh Groban.  She has also taught in the Ponca City Public Schools and Putnam City Public Schools.  She has maintained an active private violin and viola studio for the past four years, and her students have obtained superior ratings and placement in honor orchestras.

 

 

Brian Anderson is a junior currently studying Guitar Performance at Oklahoma City University. He has over 8 years of guitar experience and 6 years experience in Music Theory.  He has studied the skills & techniques of the masters such as: Andres Segovia, Matteo Carcassi, Mauro Giuliani, Scott Tennant, Aaron Shearer, Wes Montgomery, B.B. King and Jimmy Page He is a graduate of Classen School of Advanced Studies, where he studied 4 years of classical guitar and Music Theory. He taught himself to play by ear, allowing him to understand the guitar in many different ways.  Students, ranging from beginner to expert, will learn a variety of styles, depending on their interest level in Classical, Rock n' Roll, Blues, and Jazz. 

 

 

 

 

 

Chelsea Barron is the director and founder of the Oklahoma Academy of Irish Dance. Chelsea started her teaching career as an assistant instructor at the young age of 14. After retiring from competition, Chelsea decided to pursue her dream and open her own academy. She has brought Irish dance to a number or churches and schools in the metro area, and has worked with over 200 adults and children. Her students have performed at a number of events including the Medieval Fair, the Oklahoma Celtic Festival, and the Oklahoma Celtic Fair.

 

 

Ruth Couts has 35 years experience teaching piano beginning while she was still in high school.  She was selected as the All State choir accompanist her senior year.  She began playing in church in the 7th grade and continues to play in church today.  She has taught in the Edmond Public Schools and at Christian Heritage Academy in OKC.  She has a BME from UCO and studied post graduate piano with Digby Bell at OU.  She currently teaches piano in Mustang and OKC.  She is a certified piano instructor and her students consistently obtain superior ratings at competitions.  She encourages their performing at nursing homes as well as local malls during the Christmas season.  She and her husband, Bill, have home schooled their 4 children.



Russell Davis has played the saxophone for over eighteen years. His education includes the University of Central Oklahoma where he played principal parts in Jazz band #1, Wind Ensemble and the Symphony Orchestra on the saxophone, oboe and English horn. In high school Russell won top honors competing in the National Fine Arts Festival of the Assemblies of God. He performs locally with a number of bands covering a wide range of musical styles. Russell has worked actively as a recording engineer over the last decade with many local and national credits.

 

 

Audra Faust is a coloratura soprano with bachelors in vocal performance from Southern Nazarene University and masters in opera performance from The Boston Conservatory.  She and her husband have recently relocated back to Oklahoma where she has begun private vocal lessons as well as coaching for audition/competition preparation.  Audra will also join with Southern Nazarene University in the fall of 2009 as an adjunct vocal professor.  Although classically trained, Audra has a passion for all genres of music.  She grew up singing in church and was highly involved in community theater until college, where she fell in love with opera. 

 

 

Alexia Freudenberger  has a Bachelors degree in Fine Art, as well as a Masters of Education in Behavioral Studies from Oklahoma City University. Alexia teaches our Toddler Art, Early Art, youth and adult art classes. She is also the Design and Administrative Associate for the SPFAA.  She is currently teaching kindergarten through 8th grade art at Messiah Lutheran School and is the creative force behind St. Paul's ChurchBeat, bulletin, and many other creative projects at St. Paul's. Alexia was a recipient of the Art Talent Award and qualified to participate in the State Regent's Oklahoma Scholar-Leadership Enrichment Program and graduated Summa Cum Laude. She received a university endorsement for the Rhodes Scholarship and was a state interviewee. Alexia is also mom to the fantastic Lily Celeste, her favorite person in the world.



 

 

 

Rita Keary has been dancing for 20 years and teaching for nine. Beginning her training in Kansas City she studied in the areas of Tap, Jazz, Ballet, Pointe, Modern, and Musical Theater; competing on the regional and national levels.  Rita received her B.A. in Fine Arts with an emphasis in Dance under the direction of Liz Reiter at St. Gregory’s University in 2006. During her time there she was involved with the University Dance Company “Spirit and Sole”, Liturgical Dancers, as well as the SGU Basketball Dancers. Currently Rita is teaching for CeCe Farha at Range of Motion Dance Studio.

She teaches from ages 3 to 18 years old in the areas of Pre-Dance, Tap, Jazz, Ballet, and Beginner Hip-Hop. Throughout her dance training Rita has had the fortune to train from several master instructors; as well as touring the United States with Jazz on Tap on Tour (formerly Joel Ruminer’s Dance Camps) as an assistant to the master instructors. 

 

 

Tatiana Kuleshova is a private piano teacher at Central Community Music School, and accompanist at University of Central Oklahoma.  She has a private studio where she teaches students age 3-20.  She teaches musical theory and harmony in her private teaching.  She has a Bachelor's and Masters degree in Piano Performance accompanying, and pedagogy at the Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory of Music.  She has taught at the British International School of Moscow and accompanied the Bolshoi Theater of Choreography studio.  She was the Third Prizewinner at the Fifth International Russian Piano Music Competition in San Jose as well as the Third Prizewinner at the Fifth International Piano Competition in Andorra, Spain.




 

 

 

Stephanie Lemoine received her Bachelor of Music from the University of Missouri Conservatory of Music in Kansas City.  She received her Master of Music from the University of Oklahoma and is currently finishing her Doctorate degree in Music from the University of Oklahoma. An active professional cellist, Stephanie Lemoine is currently performing with our own Oklahoma City Philharmonic and as Principal Cello with the Fort Smith Symphony in Arkansas.  She also enjoys a regular performance schedule as a chamber musician with members of the Chamber Music Society of Amarillo, Texas.  During summers, she performs at the QuartzMountain Music Festival in Lone Wolf, Oklahoma.  Ms. Lemoine frequently performs as soloist with the Fort Smith Symphony.  As a teacher, Lemoine has served on the faculty of Oklahoma BaptistUniversity and Oklahoma Christian University and maintains an active private studio. 

 

 

Kim Williams has a BA degree in Religion and a BM degree in Piano Pedagogy from OCU.  She has worked in youth ministry for several years and has taught in her private piano studio for 19 years.  She is an accomplished composer and teaches composition as well.  Kim has taught group piano at UCO and directs a composition camp for her students each summer.  Kim has presented workshops on composition to local music associations.  She "loves teaching and composing music that has the ability to touch a student's life."  Her published music with Alfred Publishing Co. includes several piano solos and a worship suite entitled "Jesus Christ, Friend and Savior."



 

 

 

Kristen Wheeler is a senior at Oklahoma City University pursuing a degree in Instrumental Music Education. She has been playing the clarinet for 11 years. She is a graduate of Putnam City North High School where she was apart of the CODA honor band, All-State Honor Band, the Drum Major for the Marching Band, a member of the Wind Ensemble and Symphony Orchestra. She received superior ratings for solos at district and state level. Kristen attended Oklahoma Summer Arts Institute, and was member of the Oklahoma Youth Orchestra under the direction of Dr. John Clinton. At Oklahoma City University she has been apart of the Wind Philharmonic directed by Dr. Matthew Mailman and the Symphony Orchestra under Dean Mark Parker. She began studying clarinet with Ben Fast and has been a member of the studios of Professor Chad Burrow and Dr. Stacey DiPaolo. She has worked with students in Elementary School and Middle School through a mentoring class, tutoring and giving lessons with the desire of instilling her love of music in them.
